Here’s an article that features my hometown of Whitesburg, Ky. It’s an old one but I figure I should put it up since MRR has a dude from Hazard, Ky in this month’s issue. Up above is my buddy Evan where he talks about Motorhead. The caption reads:
“Right up front about his musical preferences, Motorhead fan Evan Smith joins friend Charity Quillen for a quick break during a concert sponsored by a local cooperative called Youth Bored. Once a liaison between Youth Bored and Whitesburg’s bored youths, and now a junior at Oberlin College, Evan says music—and the people who make it—should stand for something. “When I see videos of the [Rolling] Stones, I can’t help but feel it’s an act,” he says. “But there’s something sincere about Motorhead. They’ve held on to what a lot of other bands have lost—what you might call rebel energy.”
